Hand wash in 30 °C water with wool shampoo, without soaking for more than 10 minutes and without rubbing. Do not wring: press out excess water with a towel and dry horizontally on a flat surface away from radiators. Vicuña and baby cashmere are best taken to a dry cleaner specializing in delicate wool. Remove pilling with a stone or shaver every 3–4 wears, store folded, not on hangers.
Dry clean with a crepe brush in the direction of the nap, then use a suede eraser for localized scuffs. Salt and water stains can be removed with a solution of water and a drop of vinegar, applied precisely, followed by drying at room temperature. Before the season, apply a fluorine-based water-repellent spray in two thin layers. Water and hair dryers are prohibited: the nap shrinks and darkens.
Shoes: use shoe trees after each wear, allow at least 24 hours of rest between wears, apply nourishing cream every 5–7 wears, wax on the toe and heel. Bag: stuff with soft paper, store in a fabric dust bag, no polyethylene. Leather conditioner — 2–4 times a year. Do not overload straps and handles: hardware deformation is irreversible.
Temperature 18–22 °C, humidity 45–55 %, vertically or on its side without pressure on the scales. Every six months — a specialized conditioner in a thin layer, without silicone and without ordinary shoe creams. Direct sun and dry air lead to scale detachment. If you have a CITES certificate, keep it with the item: it confirms legal origin.
Full service — every 5–7 years, which is standard for most manufacturers. Water resistance check — annually, especially if the case has been opened. It's better not to leave automatic watches in a winder 24/7: rotation before wearing is sufficient. Leather straps are changed every 1–2 years, metal bracelets are cleaned with a soft brush and warm water.
Gold and platinum with diamonds: warm water, a drop of neutral soap, a soft brush, rinse and dry polish with microfiber. Pearls, emeralds, opals, turquoise: only wipe with a damp cloth, no ultrasonic bath. Silver — impregnated cloth, store in a sealed bag without air access. Each item — in a separate compartment of the jewelry box, so that stones do not scratch the metal.
Neapolitan cut: almost no lining and layers in the shoulder, sleeve sewn with spalla camicia fit, soft silhouette, shorter length. English — structured shoulder, pronounced chest, more formal line. The fit is correct when the collar lies snugly on the shirt without a gap, the shoulder seam ends at the bone, and a palm can pass between the chest and the lapel. Adjustable parameters — sleeves, waist, length; the shoulder is practically not subject to alteration.
Look at four groups of signs: stitching and its density (for top-tier houses, stitches are even, threads are natural), internal markings and article number, hardware (weight, engraving, zipper movement), and the set of documents — receipt, authenticity card, CITES for exotic items. Quiet luxury — items without prominent logos, recognizable by material and cut. Base: two suits in neutral shades, three-four shirts, a cashmere sweater, a knitted cardigan, a double cashmere coat, Derby shoes and loafers, a leather belt and a briefcase. Palette — gray, navy blue, sand, cream. Tones, not brands, ensure versatility, so 12–15 items cover both business and casual wardrobes.
Suit — on a hanger or in a garment bag, folded “shoulder to shoulder” and interleaved with thin paper. Cashmere — rolled, not folded. Shoes — with shoe trees and in separate bags, soles facing out. Watches and jewelry — in hand luggage, in a soft case; when traveling with diamonds, keep certificates with you. Do not check exotic leather in luggage: humidity changes damage the scales.
